I went back to my roots this weekend and took my kids on a day trip to Tilden Park in Berkeley. Both my parents grew up a couple of miles from this amazing park, and my grandparents took me there all the time when I was a kid. Just as I remembered, it was simply wonderful. There is a 'little farm' that has cows, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats and more that kids can feed and learn about.  Read more...

Creepy, crawly, slimy, biting snakes, lizards, reptiles! What is the allure to our little ones? Just the other day I was remembering playing with snails and crickets as a little girl. I can recall fearlessly plucking bullfrogs from streams and scooping up tadpoles into soda bottles to eagerly deliver to my mother.
